Another one from Departures.

Here's another one from The Scientist.  This one is about life as an organism that only breeds once and then dies.

Okay, I've now mixed three songs in five years for this album.  At this rate, we'll be having a combination record release/retirement party.

Here's a new one from my upcoming album "Departures".  It's a highly bizarre song for me - a straight up, not at all ironic, country tearjerker.

I guess we can retire Champaign Socialist in favor of Cocaine Socialist.

Here's another one from The Scientist.  This is actually me covering an old Love Button song.  The Scientist will be out soon - cover art is now done, and I'm basically just waiting on a test pressing, and then there will be a few days before CDBaby gets it in the system to sell.  I expect to release it within a couple of weeks, though!

Another thirty second song.  This one is an ode to my new temporary crown.

Here's a super-fast little thing I whipped out for a thirty second song contest.  No rules, except that the song has to be at or under thirty seconds.  This is thirty on the nose.

One night after work, Special K and Ninja brave rush hour to drive to Hamilton, Ontario to see the new exhibits at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.   They are not disappointed by the kimono of the famous Geisha Ichimaru, nor the contemporary art of Japan, the Bruegel-Bosch Bus, and the Monotheatrum.

Here's a little instrumental bit I did for a student who's working on a spy film and asked me for a bit of music.  It's still rough around the edges, but I like it.

My friend EBA of the Shapeless Mass Podcast (podcast.shapelessmass.com) decided to go crazy on one of my old electronic songs.  We keep meaning to do a collaborative thing, but have just never gotten around to it.  Someday...

They're still in Japan.   Ninja and Special K take in a Kyoto light show.    They also wander into an open air taiko drumming performance in Osaka.

This past weekend I had a bluegrass band from Davis called Chicken Tractor over to the house to record.  They are excellent musicians, and a good time was had by all.  It was my first experience recording in the style of a lot of old-timey bands, where you basically set up just a couple of mics and the musicians control the mix by their proximity to the mics - a mix that they can't actually hear while they're playing.  It requires a great deal of skill, but they are easily up to the task.
